Chicago’s lakefront offers 18 miles of bike trails, much of which was recently redesigned to separate pedestrians and cyclists, ensuring better safety for all users. Grab a Divvy at Kathy Osterman Beach, at the north end of the trail, and you can ride all the way down to 71st Street on the city’s south side. Along the way, you can admire the city’s many beaches or stop at sites like the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Buckingham Fountain, and the University of Chicago campus in Hyde Park. In summer vendors dot the path offering everything from coffee and doughnotus to a classic Chicago hot dog.
