It is still not too late to go on a biking and exploration tour around Hyde Park! Xplore invites you on a leisurely bike tour to let you explore nature and history along the south lakefront.

If you are coming from downtown, hop on a Divvy bike from Millennium Park located on Michigan Ave and Monroe Street (east side of Michigan Ave.), or bring your own, and cycle south through the Burnham Wildlife Corridor, the largest natural area on the lakefront.

Burnham Wildlife Corridor begins at McCormick Place; from there you'll pass through areas of prairie grass, savanna, and woods. Don't worry, the trail is paved throughout.

You'll continue to Promontory Point, a manmade peninsula near the Museum of Science and Industry. Just south of there, you'll stop at the Garden of the Phoenix, a serene Japanese treasure tucked away inside Jackson Park.

Next the group will head to Cafe Medici for a quick refreshment. They have everything there, from coffee and teas, to pastries and sandwiches.

A few blocks west, you'll tour Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie-style masterpiece, the Robie House. The tour hours are usually Thursday - Monday 10 am - 2:30 pm, and the cost is between $25 - $75.

The last stop will be for a hearty lunch at Valois, one of Obama's favorite places! Be aware that it's cash only and does close around 3pm daily. This is a cafeteria-style restaurant.

Then it's time to bike back north to Millennium Park!
