Inns and lodges were very popular during the 18th-century, providing a rest stop for travelers, offering food and drink. Longman & Eagle and Executive Chef Maxwell Robbins continue this tradition, serving the Logan Square neighborhood since 2010. The second floor of this split level establishment is reserved for lodging, with 6 distinct rooms, varying in space and design. On the first floor, you enter the main bar and dining area with a small back room where guests who prefer a less rowdy dinner can dine. Continuing through the corridor to the back of the building, you'll enter The Offsite Bar (The OSB), which is a cozy miniature bar, perfect to grab a drink while waiting for your table to be called. Their brunch and dinner menus change often, or as their locally sourced ingredients allow, but diners really find their extensive list of libation the most intriguing. To accompany their nearly endless list of whiskeys, cocktails and carefully selected wines and beers, L&E boasts an impressively rare bourbon collection, curated by the bar manager, Tony Correale. Note that Longman & Eagle is not a speakeasy but more of restaurant with a mini bar.
