This funky restaurant is an ode to the Mexican heritage from its name, which translates to "my namesake" in Spanish, to the subtly ornate drinking glasses and handmade plates and bowls. Chef Diana Davila recreates some of her favorite traditional dishes blended with unusual but remarkable ingredients. Her menu features experimental small plates like the Peanut Butter Y Lengua dish, featuring pickled onions and grilled radishes, to a series of tacos and other familiar dishes you won't find at the food cart. The popular Logan Square eatery was recently added to the Michelin Bib Gourmand list, a curation of notable restaurants in the area. On Sundays, Davila pays homage to family, as within the Mexican culture, Sundays are reserved for dining out with the family as a result of everyone helping to cook during the week. She features a rotating menu of familiar plates and desserts for guests to enjoy. Be sure to reserve your table to secure your chance to experience the best parts of Mexico.
