On the outskirts of Lakeview East and Lincoln Park sits mfk. restaurant, named after noted food writer, Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher. Since early July 2011, this Spanish-inspired eatery has focused on creating dishes using varying types of fish and seafood coupled with mind-blowing spices and flavors which are often served tapas style, though there are slightly larger plates for your enjoyment. The owners, Scott Worsham and Shari Zernick-Worsham, executive chef, Nick Lacasse, and staff have worked relentlessly to create the atmosphere diners experience today. Once you've had a chance to visit, you'll immediately see why there's no surprise they've been named as one of the top restaurants in Chicago on the Bib Gourmand list since 2016.
The intimate room, situated below street level, greets diners with bright white walls and tiles along with a friendly team. With daily specials Wednesday through Sunday and a curated wine list, consisting of mainly whites and rose, one can imagine how busy it can get. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by phone.
